The Hon. William B. Enright Inn of Court is composed of Associates, Barristers and Masters. Associates are invited to join the Inn for two years, Barristers for three years, and Masters for life. Barristers are experienced lawyers, who may have as much as 25 years of experience, or sometimes as little as five years experience. Associates generally are younger lawyers, some of whom have considerable experience, and some of whom are relatively new to the practice of law.

The Inn year runs from September through May. The monthly meetings during each Inn year qualify for 9 hours of MCLE credits, including specialty credits such as legal ethics, competence, and recognition and elimination of bias.

Annual dues normally include the following benefits:

  • Monthly meetings (which include dinner and drinks);

  • MCLE credit for at least six meetings;

  • Attendance at the Joint Inns Dinner at which members of all San Diego-based American Inns of Court Chapters meet; and

  • Attendance at our kick-off special event and any other Inn-wide social events.

Dues also cover the operating expenses of the Inn and national dues paid to the American Inns of Court Foundation.

For the 2023-2024 Inn year, the annual dues are $400 for private practice attorney members, $300 for public attorney/judicial officer members, and $50 for Masters on Sabbatical.
